Native Embroidery Attends 2006 Annual Windows of Success
29th Annual Business Opportunity Conference held at Joseph
S. Koury Convention Center August 14-16, 2006 Greensboro,
North Carolina. This event was hosted by the Carolinas
Minority Supplier Development Council http://www.carolinasmsdc.org.
Thirty years ago a small group of Indian parents founded Guilford
Native American Association for the purpose of promoting greater
academic success among American Indian children in the Greensboro
and Guilford County School Systems. With support from local
Lutheran churches, this group of parents incorporated Guilford
Native as a non-profit agency in September 1975. From that
single-focus program of educational advocacy, Guilford Native
has grown to include a employment and job skills program,
youth and elder programs, a Native American fine art gallery
and gift shop and Pocosin
Online American Indian Store. In December 2002 Guilford
Native opened Pocosin Online American Indian Store, a retail
online store in Greensboro, NC to sell authentic American
Indian art. Proceeds from sales at the GNA
Gallery Gift Shop, the online retail store and in 2004/05
Pocosin
Native Embroidery ~ offering Native-Themed Embroidered
Apparel and Contract Embroidery will help fund our human services
programs and enable us to continue our mission of promoting
social and economic self-sufficiency for Indian people in
Guilford County and the Piedmont Triad. Our Board of Directors,
staff, and community would like to welcome you to Guilford
Native. We hope you enjoy your visit with us as well as choosing
from our wide selection of authentic American Indian art.
