In September
2005 we celebrate 30 years of service to Native American people
in the Triad and surrounding areas. We are ever mindful of our
mission to Promote Social and Economic Self-Sufficiency for
Indian People. It is this mission that continues to sustain
us as we strive to provide the necessary programs and services
for our community.

Executive Director's Letter
Continued From Above...
We are ever grateful to those government agencies, foundations,
corporations, institutions of higher learning and individuals
that support us financially in our endeavors. And, as always
we must give thanks to those in our community who possessed
the vision, courage and wisdom to establish Guilford Native
American Association back in September of 1975.
To all the dancers, singers, drums, artists, vendors and friends
participating in this year's Pow Wow and Cultural Festival,
we thank you for sharing in this celebration of our heritage.
We also offer a heartfelt thanks to all our volunteers who
so unselfishly give of their time and energy year after year
to make this event such a huge success.
Someone once said that the best criteria by which to
judge any community is the health and well-being of its children
and elders.
Mr. Lonnie Revels, a member of our Board of Directors who
passed away July 10, 2003, dedicated his life's work to this
cause. In his honor we will continue to work diligently to
ensure that those most vulnerable in our community receive
the support and encouragement they need. On a personal note
I would like to thank you Lonnie for being a friend and mentor,
not only during my time at Guilford Native, but throughout
my life.
Again, thanks to all of you for sharing this special time
with us. May the Great Spirit continue to bless us all.
Sincerely,
Rick Oxendine
Executive Director, Guilford Native American Association
