American Indian Nations Remember...9-11
26th Annual GNAA Pow-Wow And Cultural Festival
September 20-22, 2002
Country Park Greensboro, North Carolina |
This month Guilford Native American Association celebrates 27 years of service to the Native American population in the Triad and surrounding area. We are grateful to be a part of this wonderful community and are proud of the programs and services that we provide. By staying true to our mission of helping our People to become socially and economically self-sufficient we will continue to be successful.
We are particularly grateful to those agencies, foundations, and corporations that support us in our efforts, including the Administration for Native Americans, the U.S. Department of Labor, United Way of Greater Greensboro, the NC Arts Council, the United Arts Council of Greensboro, American Express and countless others. And as always, we offer our thanks and admiration to those in our community who possessed the vision, courage, and wisdom to establish this Agency.
We dedicate this year's 26th Annual Pow Wow and Cultural Festival to the memory of those who lost their lives one year ago on September 11. It is our hope and prayer that a tragedy such as this never again occurs in our country or anywhere else on earth.
I would like to extend a heartfelt welcome to all the dancers, singers, drums, artists, vendors, and friends to this year's event. Thank you for sharing in this celebration of our heritage. Also, a special thanks to our volunteers who help make this event a success.
May the Great Spirit continue to bless our board, staff, volunteers, and community. Have a safe and enjoyable Pow Wow and Cultural Festival and thank you for your continued support of "Guilford Native".
Sincerely,
Rick Oxendine
