George Cleveland Lewis, Sr.,
was born on February 10, 1944 in Fairmont, North Carolina to
Lawrence Lewis and Artie Mae Hunt Lewis. This earthly life ended
suddenly on Friday, February 8, 2002 at High Point Regional
Hospital.
George was not a rich man, but he had a wealth of family and
friends. He was not a scholar; he had a knowledge of Life and
Jehovah God instead. His walls were not adorned with trophies,
but with photographs of his children and grandchildren.
From his humble upbringing in Robeson County he learned many
valuable lessons of life. He was a humble man, a generous man,
and a man slow to anger. He was a "family man"; wherever
you saw Macie, George was there. When Laura Ann gave birth to
his first grandchild - April, he was there. When Nora gave birth
to twins and his first grandson he was there. When George Jr.
gave him his namesake, George Cleveland Lewis, III, he was there.
His family knew if they ever needed anything "Daddy"
or "Uncle George" or "Buzzy" was there.
He learned work ethics, which is evident from his years of service
at Davis Furniture and his close relationship to the Davis family.
Survivors who hold many fond memories in their hearts include:
his wife of 37 years, Macie Dial Lewis; two daughters, Mrs.
Nora Dial-Stanley and husband Stephen of Kernersville, and Laura
Butler and husband Billy of Lumberton; a son, George Cleveland
Lewis, Jr. and wife Maria of Dexter, Maine; two sisters, Mrs.
Carrie Mae Locklear of Randleman and Mrs. Shirley Jacobs of
Lumberton; two brothers, Lawrence Lewis, Jr. of St. Paul, NC
and Cleveland Lewis of Lumberton; eight grandchildren, April
Nicole and Stephanie Ann Oxendine, Stephen Ryan and Herietta
Raven Stanley, Kilee Jordan and George Cleveland Lewis, III,
and Tracy and Kathy Butler; an aunt Mageline Carter of Fairmont,
NC. There are several nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, relatives,
and a host of friends.
He was a husband, a father, a brother, a brother-in law, an
uncle, a nephew, a cousin, and a best friend. Through his love
of family and his love of life he influenced everyone that he
met. He will be greatly missed.

Life Without End - At Last
Can you see, with your mind's eye,
Peoples dwelling together?
Sorrow has passed. Peace at last!
Life without tears and pain.
Chorus: Sing out with joy of heart.
You, too, can have a part.
Live for the day when you'll say;
"Life with-out end, at last!"
Man and beast, living in peace,
Cause no harm to each other.
Food will be there.
All will have share
In what our God provides.
Chorus
In those days old will grow young,
Flesh revived as in childhood.
Troubles are gone, from now on
No need to weep or fear.
Chorus
Paradise all will enjoy
As they sing of God's glory.
Yes, everyday we will say
To God our Maker, "Thanks!"
Chorus

reading the .ppt PowerPoint Presentation file provided above.
If
your Windows/DOS computer

attempt this.
If you should decide to attempt this you do
so AT YOUR OWN RISK!!

someone on standby if you should decide to do this. Do
NOT call Guilford Native American Association with PowerPoint and
PowerPoint Viewer install and setup questions. These informational
